Aquatic Stage Staff

The Aquatic Stage Staff (STAA) is responsible for assisting with dive shows and underwater activities in the Aqua Theater, as requested by the Aqua Cast Support Divers, Entertainment Performer Flying Specialists, and/or the Aqua Theater Stage Production Manager. The Aquatic Stage Staff also acts as a safety diver in the unlikely event of an Aqua Show related emergency. Additionally, will support non-SCUBA diving venues on a rotational basis.

Requirements:

Completion of high school or basic education equivalency required.

Experience as a Stage Technician strongly preferred.

Minimum Open Water certified by PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) or other globally recognized equivalent diving agency is required (SSI, SDI, NAUI).

Must have the ability to dive utilizing SCUBA apparatus, including full face mask, and work under water in a confined freshwater pool for up to 60 minutes or more during a live performance.

All candidates who apply for the role, will need to be ready with a video (4-5 minutes long) showcasing the following skills:

-          Swimming skills (backstroke, breaststroke)

-          Underwater swimming with surfacing while using
           full diving gear/masks (not scuba gear).

-          Demonstrating mask "re-sets".

-          Demonstrating dives using a full face mask .

-          Demonstrating approved PADI hand signals.

-          Demonstrating getting out of the water with tank on.

-          ‘Buddy’ check- checking ‘buddy’ equipment to ensure safety.


Applicants without a diving certification and a video will not be considered for the role.
