Commis Cooks help prepare food items to deliver quality cuisine and create a superb dining experience for our guests. He/she works in various galley stations; collaborates with station heads; studies the menu to give accurate estimates; and practices HACCP and onboard sanitation and hygiene standards. The Commis Cook executes various knife slices and cooking methods; measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe; ensures proper portions on all plates; and performs various food preparation tasks. Candidates must have experience in an upscale hotel, restaurant, or similar facilities, as well as proof of cook apprenticeship certificate or its equivalent. Preferred candidates must have extensive knowledge of food handling; and a passion for the culinary arts.
