Fitter Engine

The Fitter Engine install, maintain, diagnose, repair, and overhaul shipboard propulsion and generating plant and related engine room systems. They work closely with engineers, fitters, electricians, and other maintenance teams to ensure reliable power, propulsion, and auxiliary system operation across all areas of the vessel.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualifications& Training 

·       Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in marine engineering, mechanical fitting, or equivalent

·       Valid welding/fitter certification authorized by a recognized authority

·       Practical experience with marine diesel engines, generators, propulsion systems, and associated piping and fittings; familiarity with fuel, lubrication, and cooling circuits.

·       Knowledge of stainless steel, steel, and aluminum components used in engine rooms, understanding of marine corrosion prevention.

Language Requirements:

·       Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests.

·       Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions inwritten and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers.
